At Concept, we’re passionate about supporting local people and businesses.
Not only do we provide top-class managed IT services to businesses and charities, but we also love to help local good causes.
That’s why we’re delighted to be sponsoring Tanfield Lea Community Primary School girls football team – not least because it’s managing director Kevin’s former school!
We’ve chosen to sponsor the girls’ kit as we’re also passionate about boosting female participation in traditionally male-dominated areas. Just like football, the IT sector also has a shortage of females.
Kevin said: “Football has a shortage of female players and tech really struggles to attract women too. By sponsoring the kit, we’re delighted to be doing our bit to help get more women and girls into both.”
Like the rest of the country, we were glued to our screens last year watching the Lionesses roar to victory in Euro 2022, and it appears such a high-profile success story is already having an impact on school pupils.
Mark Temple, deputy headteacher at Tanfield Lea Community Primary, said: “We are so grateful to have Concept IT sponsor our kit, as both it and the boys’ kit was looking rather tired – both teams play a lot of matches.
“We have seen an upsurge in interest in girls’ football, inspired by the Lionesses’ win, and Kevin’s vision of more female participation in IT as well as sport is a vision we share.
“The girls are over the moon at their purple kit and can’t wait to represent the school in it.”
We’re glad to be of service – remember us when you make it to Wembley girls!
